Nearly 300 students filled Bangor’s Central Hall for an exciting enterprise event featuring performances from a well-known face.
Young entrepreneur Chris Hughes, Hughes Leisure Ltd, gave a very personal and inspiring overview of his experiences starting up, the difficulties he faced early on, and how he has developed his business through hard work and perseverance. The audience had the opportunity to ask Chris a few questions and came out with a couple of good ones - about his advice to a young person starting up and the risks he takes as an entrepreneur.
To showcase his business Chris invited along a few performers, new Belfast band Looking for a Lifeguard who had everyone up dancing to covers of Katy Perry & Justin Timberlake! The star of the show was undoubtedly former X Factor contestant Eoghan Quigg. Eoghan took to the stage sporting a fine looking SERC hoodie and gave a cracking performance of Snow Patrol and McFly favourites! Eoghan gave an insight into what it is like working in the music industry since X Factor.
10 lucky audience members won a photo with Eoghan though he was gracious enough to stop for a photo with plenty of students.
Thanks to everyone involved in staging the event and to Chris, his team, Looking for a Lifeguard & Eoghan for their time and support in helping us promote enterprise.
Students also raised £250 for Cool FM’s Cash for Kids charity – so a big thank you to all those who attended.
