So what is a strapline?  A strapline is one short sentence which sums up your business and helps a customer to remember you and to choose you.  They should sum up one or more important points about a business or enterprise, and be easily remembered.  Simplicity is vital; avoid words that people may not understand, and avoid long sentences. Most slogans are 3-6 words, with very few going above 8; as they quickly lose their simplicity, becoming less memorable.

Some strapline examples:

Toyota; “The car in front”

McDonalds; “I’m loving it”

Comet; “We live electricals”

Stella Artois; “Reassuringly Expensive”

Tesco; "Every Little Helps"

Maybelline; "Maybe She's Born With it, Maybe it's Maybelline"

KitKat; “Have a break, Have a KitKat”
